We say it in the description of what we do: "An organization dedicated to worship, missions and humanitarian aid."
In July we had our first ever meeting of all people presently involved in the ministry in one active way or another. It was great. Twenty five people assembled in Brantford for a day of sharing testimonies and vision, food and worship. For the first time ever all people who could be describe as workers or volunteers or staff or associates were in one place to meet each other, representing all areas of ministry from those ordained through Worship With Us to fundraisers, volunteers, Board members. Yes, some were surprised to see how many people are actually part of this ministry, but also blessed to be part of such a great group. Comments afterwards included, "You've got a good group of people around you."
It is now 20 years since the first visit to Eastern Europe, where I lost my heart in Bulgaria. 16 years since we started taking teams. 13 years since the ministry became a registered Canadian charity. 10 years since we bought the house in Northern Bulgaria. 5 years since we first stayed there, using it as a mission base for teams to stay. 3 years since we hosted our first mission team of young adults from the United States. 2 years since we hosted our first Romanian mission team who came to help with the building project.
It is now 1.5 months until we take our next team across the ocean. 3 months until we host our first team coming from Bulgaria to Canada. X number of months until the building project is completed and we have the accommodation we need for ministry activities at our missions centre. (Future dates often rely on finances). 7 months until Jane and I are back in Europe. 8 months until we start to bring teams with team leaders other than John and Jane.
God is building an organization. We say, "the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our sight!"
